SDB can provide Automation Project Services (APS) to the industrial environment in the Midwest. Automation projects normally are those that contain various levels of the computer control hierarchy functions as follows below:

Level 1 - the PROCESS consisting of the field Input/Output(I/O), interfaced with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to networks of computers.

Levels 2/3 - SUPERVISORY CONTROL and DATA ACQUISITION of the PROCESS. these levels consist of supervisory control and data acquisition functions running in real time on computer systems that are usually connected to the process via the I/O and the digital data highway communication media, such as fiber optic and/or copper conductor. These computer systems can perform additional functions of production recording, material tracking, scheduling, shipping etc..

Level 4 - the BUSINESS computer systems, where the plant management ties into the process to perform such functions as, Order Entry & Processing, Payroll, Accounting, Training records, OSHA Data Base etc.
