Superior Engineering (S/E) was proud to sponsor the Annual Block Kids Program hosted by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). This free event is open to children in grades K-6, and introduces them to the construction industry, creating awareness and promoting interest in construction. The Construction Industry faces a workforce shortage that poses a serious problem for our national economy. To meet the demand for construction, the industry needs to attract, educate and train 240,000 newcomers annually. This is one of the many facets and benefits of an education in STEM; well-paying, transportable careers in an expanding industry.
We are supportive of the many efforts that NAWIC undertakes and S/E is proud to sponsor this event. Educating children and providing hands-on learning opportunities like this are not only important to their future, but also to an industry that supports so many people in our community, as well.
