A major specialty chemical manufacturer in the Midwest needed a new laboratory building for research purposes as well as the need for additional office space.
Superior Engineering (S/E) was asked to complete the engineering services from project initiation through and including detail design and engineering. A typical gated process was used to guide this project to a successful outcome.
Various locations were evaluated along with different floor plans to minimize project costs. This was a critical phase for the project, and input from the end users was a significant part of the development process. A solid basis for design was determined, providing a valuable and reliable basis for the detail engineering phase.
S/E provided site plans, drainage plans, foundation plans, HVAC, lighting, piping, fire alarms, controls, and electrical layout along with corresponding detail drawings and specifications.
The twelve-week schedule for engineering included the permit approval process for the required approving authority and included PE stamped drawings.
