Refinery Resource Shelter

A global oil refinery contacted Superior Engineering (S/E) to manage the procurement and installation of a prefabricated metal structure to house specialized oil response equipment.

Work began by procuring the 2,500 square foot prefabricated metal structure. This included preparing a technical bid package, bid evaluation analysis and vendor document review. The unoccupied, uninsulated building incorporated an electrically operated overhead door, a service entrance, interior lighting, and an integrated electrical system.

An initial Excavation Information Package (EIP) was prepared for the building site. S/E also prepared a Civil/Structural Package including a building layout drawing, foundation and concrete flatwork, grading, site plan and paving drawings. S/E assisted the client with obtaining the required building permits from the City and State jurisdictions.

The Electrical Work Package engineered by S/E included a plan drawing describing the building power requirements, a layout illustrating the interior electrical design with distribution panels, convenience outlets, and lighting and overhead door requirements. Procurement specifications covering all electrical equipment was also detailed.

Throughout the duration of the project, S/E also provided engineering cost management with progress reporting, earned value analysis reporting, construction assistance and schedule tracking & compliance. Regardless of size, S/E ensures that projects run smoothly and end with a client that is satisfied, continuing to foster strong partnerships throughout the globe.
