Accurate Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s) are often a client’s valued asset and are frequently overlooked. In addition to being required by government regulations, they serve as the foundation for efficient plant operations. S/E has extensive P&ID design experience and are constantly expanding this expertise into new industries. Recently, we were able to apply our resources to find an efficient solution for an agricultural chemical client.
As with most facilities, we worked to prepare an accurate set of master diagrams from a detailed field review. This effort also identified potential issues which needed attention that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. CAD drawings were audited and updated, and now serve as an accurate and up-to-date resource. They ensure plant & personnel safety as well as serving as a reliable resource for the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
In addition to designing and updating P&ID’s, S/E can implement a system to keep these resources updated as maintenance work is executed, or new projects are completed. This discipline is incredibly important and ensures the validity of the plant design and optimization for many years to come. With accurate P&ID’s, the operation can rest assured that they have the necessary design parameters to perform upgrades and CAPEX projects safely and efficiently.
