After having to decommission an existing fuel storage tank, our client was eager to construct a replacement. The high-capacity tank specifications were 81 feet wide and 48 feet tall - and needed to fit within their existing refinery layout. Timing was critical and construction needed to begin quickly in order to maintain normal operations.
In addition to engineering the site and structure itself, S/E worked provided a solution that would be safe and reliable for years to come. A complete pipe flex analysis was performed to evaluate stresses and loads that fluctuate with temperature. A WRC analysis on all nozzles was also completed to verify that loads were safely within API specifications.
