Terminal Expansion Study

In order to meet the growing demands of their East Chicago refinery operations, CITGO contracted S/E to conduct an expansion study. By adding additional bays to their loading platform, CITGO would have the additional distribution capabilities it needed. The preliminary study analyzed the current terminal and addressed the requirements of future expansion.

One of the first elements to analyze was truck/trailer logistics and turning radiuses within the confined space. New loading terminals will be useless if the truck/trailers they fill do not have enough space to maneuver safely. Additionally, S/E analyzed all supporting utilities including underground piping, electrical loads, sewer requirements and support equipment specifications.

In the end, S/E provided a comprehensive package that included preliminary sketches, piping plot plan, electrical schematics and structural layouts. Further, a formal TIC estimate was prepared for CITGO should they move forward with the expansion.
