Purdue Grads Connect with Superior Engineering

NWI-ScreenshotSuperior Engineering employees Amy Kovacs and Andrew Arnold were recognized in a recent newspaper article in the Times of Northwest Indiana. The story features Purdue Calumet graduates and illustrates their experience within the local engineering industry.

We continue to support the growth of Purdue Calumet and Purdue North Central into the new Purdue Northwest, and believe their engineering programs position students and NWI to succeed. Both Amy and Andrew are a testament to this and we are fortunate to have them on our team.

Inaugural Chili Cook-Off

Superior Engineering hosted its inaugural Chili Cook-Off and the competition was fierce. There were (8) secret recipes to sample from and each were well prepared, distinctive and very enjoyable. Ballots were available and the votes cast & tallied – and our talented staff of chili tasters crowned their favorites!

Congratulations to our winners:

First Place – Amy Kovacs
Second Place – Kent Troxel
Third Place – Jerry Goodlander

Thank you to everyone who made this event a success. And remember, it’s never too early to start fine-tuning your chili recipes now, as this popular event will definitely be back next year!

S/E Partners with CITGO to Support Bike MS & MDA

Superior Engineering is proud to partner with CITGO in an effort to raise awareness and support for two very important organizations, Bike MS and MDA.

Bike MS is an event that supports the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. For the past two years, we have sponsored a CITGO employee participating in the event. Collectively, Bike MS and other fundraising events have helped research breakthroughs and changed the lives of those affected by MS.

MDA is an organization supporting the individual – and their families who love them – from the harm of Muscular Dystrophy. Each year, CITGO hosts a bowling fundraiser open to their employees and contractors. For the past four years, S/E has sponsored a bowling team made up of S/E and CITGO employees to help raise awareness and support this tremendous cause.

CITGO has truly been a community leader in orchestrating support for these organizations and S/E is honored to participate along side of them.

S/E Recognized for Consistent Safety

IMG_5614The Three Rivers Manufacturers’ Association (TRMA) Board of Directors has announced that Superior Engineering will be recognized for its safety performance while working at TRMA facilities in 2015. We were presented with the Meritorious Performance Award for working without a recordable injury.

We are honored to accept this reward and believe that is a testament to our core values. Safety is just good business and it’s paramount in everything we do.

We extend our gratitude towards our team that routinely perform their jobs in accordance with all policies, regulations, codes and government standards. Safety is an ongoing commitment and we are proud of our employees, clients and contractors for making it a priority.

S/E receives Half Century Award

Letter ThumbnailIn recognition for maintaining over 50 years of continuous business operations, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation has presented Superior Engineering with the Indiana Half Century Award.

It is an honor to be recognized for this achievement and certainly a privilege to celebrate this significant company milestone. An award of this nature would not be possible without our team members and the clients we serve. Superior Engineering takes this opportunity to extend a warm thank you to both.

To our employees, both past and present, we greatly appreciate your support and continued dedication to Excellence. Through myriad business cycles and climates, your hard work and enthusiasm has prevailed. We are truly fortunate to have such exceptional employees (and shareholders) – and our future continues to look bright.

To our clients, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve you. While the field of engineering has experienced tremendous change over the past 50 years, our commitment to delivering quality and value has not wavered; we are appreciative of these enduring relationships – they mean so much to us.

The history of Excellence by Design has long been a signature of Superior Engineering. Not surprisingly, our narrative that inspires the new is as important as the hardscape that has permanently etched our past. This is the gift of engineering – always a new beginning, with each new project. In business, we see this as a line unfolding, a continual process of one generation giving to the next.

We remain deeply grateful for all of your support. And we look forward to serving both our employees and clients in the same professional and personal manner for many, many years to come. Thank you –

Friday Jeans Fundraiser

The Friday Jeans Fundraiser was an overwhelming success and exceeded our goal! The combination of a heart for charity and a strong desire to wear jeans to work resulted in a contribution of $265 from our employees. With a donation match from Superior Engineering, we raised a total of $530.

Our employees suggested their favorite charities and we randomly selected the following two to receive the proceeds:

Since giving refuge to one frightened child nearly 100 years ago, the Carmelite sisters have, literally, opened their hearts and homes to children in crisis. Today, Carmelite Home is known for being one of the best residential child care facilities in the State of Indiana.
