Superior Engineering was recently granted the Excellence Award for Safety at the Construction Awards Banquet hosted by the Construction Advancement Foundation (CAF) and the Northwest Indiana Business Roundtable (NWIBRT). The Excellence Award recognizes companies that have had three consecutive years of outstanding safety records and achievements related to engineering and construction projects. As one of Superior Engineering’s core values, safety is always a priority and we are honored by this prestigious recognition.
Dewey Pearman, Executive Director of the CAF, said, “The overarching themes from this year’s winning companies are safety and quality. Throughout our region’s construction industry, no matter what sector, Northwest Indiana contractors are committed to delivering the highest level of project outcomes possible. Familiar phrases like ‘paving the way’ and ‘laying a foundation’ are very literal in this sense, because the men and women of these construction firms establish the infrastructure in our region that heals, educates, employs, and transports our citizens. We’re very proud to celebrate their achievements at this year’s awards banquet.”
Superior Engineering is proud to be among the companies “paving the way” in Northwest Indiana and we are thankful for our dedicated team members that make it all possible.

Superior Engineering would like to welcome Mike Vandergast to our team! Mike is joining us as a Senior Engineer in our Civil/Structural Department – he is a licensed Professional Engineer as well as a licensed Structural Engineer. He comes to us with diverse experience in consulting engineering, including stops at Sargent and Lundy in Chicago, and most recently with another firm in the NWI region.

Superior Engineering (S/E) was proud to sponsor the Annual Block Kids Program hosted by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). This free event is open to children in grades K-6, and introduces them to the construction industry, creating awareness and promoting interest in construction. The Construction Industry faces a workforce shortage that poses a serious problem for our national economy. To meet the demand for construction, the industry needs to attract, educate and train 240,000 newcomers annually. This is one of the many facets and benefits of an education in STEM; well-paying, transportable careers in an expanding industry.
